Summary:
Tim Redding is a blackbird and agent of the Anti-Predation Agency, London – an organisation that fights predator terrorism in an anthropomorphised version of our world. Tim learns that the organisation has been corrupted by a terrorist group called the Hawk Horrors, that is planning to release a virus that will affect songbirds.
After escaping their clutches, Tim runs into six songbirds who become entangled in his escape. Taking refuge in the house of trusted fellow agents James and John, who he knows he can trust, they task Tim and this new team to go to the Amazon rainforest in James’ flying car to find a plant that will help to create an antidote to the virus.
But what awaits them when they arrive? Can they get a tribe of Scale-Crested Pygmy Tyrants to give them the plant? What of the hawks camped in the forest nearby? If they ever make it back to Great Britain, what will await them, and what does this virus even do to songbirds anyway?
