  Slovenian comic artist and illustrator Gašper Krajnc (1985) presents us with the almost autobiographical story of the cartoonist Ambrož, who is on the threshold of major life changes, in his comic novel Mestne ptice. Like the author, Ambrož is also a Korošec, so the dialogue with his grandfather and other family members is written in this dialect, and the dialect of the people of Ljubljana is also noticeable. The risoroman takes place in the capital, the story is complemented by very realistic illustrations of streets and buildings, as well as people and animals. Ambrož and his girlfriend Meta have a dog Darwin, and the whole story is connected by the motif of birds from the title.
