Summary:
A science fiction story in the vein of 1984 about the abuses of power and the influence of information.
After a deadly epidemic, the world was formed into independent, cloistered and ultra-secure cities.
Miguel belongs to the second generation of survivors, raised in orphanages controlled by the army. His meeting with Gloria will shake up the banality of his daily life. He refuses to succumb to the resignation and boredom caused by the imperatives of confinement…A great story about anticipation, it addresses questions linked to power and information in the light of contemporary issues.
The author and illustrator Jaume Pallardó is a Spanish comic book artist and writer.Always interested in cinema and comics, he devoted himself to making short films and animations for the Internet until 2009.In 2012 he won the City of Valencia prize at the Mostra Crea in the comics section. He has contributed stories to various fanzines such as Kovalsky Fly, Chotacabras and Arròs Negre. Author of ‘El fin del Régimen de Pletksy-Gladz’ (2013), a short comic strip published by APIV and republished by Per(r)ucho in Risografía, he co-edits the fanzine ‘Colorcarne’ with illustrator Cristian Pineda.
He wrote ‘La mort rose’ (‘La muerte rosa’, spanish edition in 2020) before the Covid wave swept into our lives. Inspired by the Ebola crisis in 2014, it questions society’s reaction to political decisions involving restrictions on freedom, whether in the event of a major health disaster or war.
