Tereza never thought she would be bald before her boys. She couldn’t imagine that she would be sued for the ponytail that was wrapped around her back. And she would never have thought that her immediate surroundings and people on the street would show her support thinking that she was undergoing chemotherapy. When she lost all of her hair due to an autoimmune disease a few months later, she had to deal with a change in her appearance, a loss of her sense of femininity and the offer of wigs. Exchanges of searches and futile hopes gave rise to many situations, which the author manages to look at from a distance and with humor. She describes her first year without hair in the present work, which, thanks to the unusual drawing of Štěpánka Jislova, is in line with the rich global tradition of autobiographical comics.
147 million people all over the planet have experienced or are experiencing one of the phases of alopecia. About two percent of patients have alopecia throughout their lives. Apart from raising awareness about it, the comic book also brings encouragement to patients who are dealing with this disease.
